100 Native Trees Planted and 100-Mile Walk Challenge

As part of the NASF #CentennialChallenge., Wyoming State Forestry Division coordinated with 16 conservation districts and the 10 UW Extension Master Gardener offices to distribute tree seedlings across Wyoming in honor of the National Association of State Foresters 100th anniversary. In total 3,000 tree seedlings were disseminated this spring across the state.

Additionally, on April 14th, 2021 Wyoming State Forestry Division in partnership with the Wyoming Office of State Lands kickstarted the 100 day Centennial Challenge. Thru July 23rd, employees are encouraged to engage in a series of activities. This is a great opportunity to help the environment, learn a new skill, help others, and spread kindness. Examples of suggested activities:

Environment:

  • Clean up trash while taking a walk,
  • Plant 100 trees,
  • Recycle 100 cans or bottles

 

Health and Wellness:

  • 100 miles of walking, hiking, running, biking, etc.,
  • 100 days of walking,
  • Practice a sport for 100 days,
  • Prepare for the wildland fire pack test

Kindness:

  • 100 good deeds,
  • 100 letters to friends and family
  • 100 hours volunteering
